Ready to shop, stop and chat with the hundreds of authors signing for literacy at the Adam's Mark Hotel in Denver on July 17th 2002.
To those standing in the three LONG lines waiting to get into the ballroom where the signing was held -- rows and rows of tables with romance author after romance author -- more than the eye could see
-- we handed out program flyers listing the Writerspace authors who were signing PLUS the wonderful contests going on that night!! AND to those who could answer the question, a fabulous, HUGE - ready-to-stuff Writerspace canvas bag!!
Don't forget, you can win one of these nifty handy bags by simply registering and posting on the Writerspace Bulletin Boards!
Soon the doors opened and in we went -- three hours to meet, greet and talk to as many authors as possible! Oh, yes, and to buy a *few* books! Surely a challenge that wouldn't be TOO hard to accomplish! Once you dodged a few hundred OTHER readers trying to do the SAME thing
Fortunately, most of the authors were sitting in alphabetical order so as you figured out WHERE you were in the alphabet, and remembered author's names it made some sense!
Of course, I started with the "D"s -- what can I tell you, I am perverse? But the door opened on the row of "D"s so that is where I started!
My first author was CLAUDIA DAIN who was signing TO BURN her latest sizzling novel (late Roman Empire in Britannia -- the Saxon take-over, in more than ONE way
Seated to the right of Claudia is PAMELA DALTON another great Writerspace author. Pamela was signing her Silhouette Intimate Moments STRATEGICALLY WED -- May 2002 release. If you like books with arranged marriages, give this one a try.
And obviously XXX was ready to SHOP till she dropped -- bag at the ready!
What a great way to start out a signing -- meeting friends with exciting books to buy!
Some of the authors I met in no particular order --
but for Gwen, her favorite princess -- Meg Cabot. Author of the PRINCESS DIARIES as well as several historical romances written as Patricia Cabot.

The place filled up fast as you can see from the crowds of shoppers, but I moved on, determined to see, meet and BUY as much as possible!
