I'm a native Valley Girl, the second of four children. I've
always loved to read and write. In high school I was active
in drama and student council, wrote poems and short stories,
and kept a journal. But my overriding interest was boys. I
left Los Angeles for Brandeis University in Massachusetts.
College was great and I learned a lot, unfortunately new
terms like "wind chill factor," "blizzards," and "ice
storms." In the next few years I collected jobs. Among other
things, I waitressed on the graveyard shift at Denny's, took
surveys at Universal Studios, modeled at car shows, and
taught at Stanley Kaplan. I also worked at a big insurance
company where I wrote a lot of short stories. Shh! Finally,
I settled down, sort of. I went to UC Berkeley's law school,
married, kept a job for longer than a year, had three
children, and wrote my first novel.
Now I'm a fulltime homemaker/writer in Orange County,
California. Though I'm a lousy cook and have a terrible fear
of cleaning, my husband and kids tell me I'm a wonderful nag.
In addition to writing novels, I write a humorous "Mom about
Town" column for the Also Viejo News section of the
Orange County Register, and have written how-to
articles for magazines such as Writer's Digest
Magazine. I hope you enjoy my writing.
