Raz Steel was born in a chalet in Frisco, Colorado. His
alter-ego was born in the very hospital frequented by Dr.
Lara West, the heroine in his upcoming book release
LOVE WITHOUT BLOOD, and a few of her vampire
friends. A storyteller his entire life, Raz finally decided
to put stories to paper. He's a pilot, a teacher, a
recycler, and a dad. He holds a degree in Philosophy from
Lafayette College and currently resides in Pennsylvania.
Raz has owned and operated a family retail business for over
thirty years. His writing career began after he became a
pilot. Being terrified of heights (anything over the third
rung of a ladder) the choice didn't seem difficult: fly or
write.
He tortured himself to get his pilot's license to cure his
fear, and now feels qualified to offer advice to other
acrophobiacs "Let me assure you, if there's anything
more terrifying than flying in a single engine airplane 3000
feet above the ground, it's flying alone in a single engine
airplane 3000 feet above the ground." You have to fly solo
to get your license. What could he have possibly been thinking?
During his first ride in a single engine plane, by way of
explanation, the instructor (Raz swears he didn't look a day
over 15) said, "Let me show you what happens when we stall
the plane." "What! Are you nuts? I don't want to know what
happens when we stall the plane." Yet he persisted in
getting his license. What could he have possibly been thinking?
Being a voracious reader, Raz became enthralled with the
Romance genre. Among his favorite authors are: Jennifer
Crusie, Janet Evanovich, Stephenie Meyer, and Christine
Feehan. In many ways, Raz is not a typical guy. He loves
romance. He's not talking about reading or writing (he loves
writing romance too.) Raz wants romance in his everyday
life, whether it's in the flowers (or dandelions) that bloom
in his garden, or the mid-afternoon phone call to say hello
to the woman he loves.
Raz studies everything and anything he finds of interest:
tennis, ballroom dancing, psychology . . . vampires. He
finds humor in all aspects of life and indeed includes it in
all of his books. Raz is currently working on several new
projects. The father of two, Raz states that although his
kids are grown-up, they'll always be "kids," and that he'll
always be "Dad."
