Summary

Lucas Donnigan has denied his supernatural powers and the emotional scars of his past for years. He values his now normal life, normal job and the occasional normal woman above all else.

Amy Vaness, psychic and the niece of Lucas' one-time mentor, loathes arrogant men who take pleasure in preying on those they believe to be weaker.

The murder of Amy's uncle and the predicted death of many others bring the two together, and it soon becomes clear that Fate wants them even closer.

Lucas is willing to work with Amy for the sake of saving lives. What he isn't willing to do is welcome the far from normal beauty into his bed or his mind. Amy believes Lucas to be the arrogant type of man she makes it a point to avoid and is just as determined to keep her distance.
