Jo Beverly 10/03/01

Cissy - Okay, all, shall we begin "officially?"
Cel - alright Jo...you look like a pro
Cel - Hi Marg
Jo Beverley - The writer's life. The past few days I've been writing an orgy.<G>
Marg - hi
Cel - an orgy?...tell us more, Jo
ReginaPride has timed out.
Jo Beverley - Hi Marg
Nanette1 - does that mean an orgy of George's lol
Jelena - I've just started The Dragon's Bride- tis all that I could get my hands on in this lil' town
Jo Beverley - Well, I had to research erotic Indian art. And I think someone's going to have to try some of the poses....<G>
Nanette1 - or Rogue's I'll take either
bklady - logged on. - from 128.223.209.159 on 10/3 at 10:07pm EST
Cissy - an orgy?? *very interested*
Jo Beverley - LOL, Nanette
Jo Beverley - Hi, bklady.
Jo Beverley - My hero is looking down his nose a bit. He throws a _much_ better orgy than this one.
Hokie has timed out.
Jo Beverley - Oh, I'm teasing. ::slaps hand:: The book won't be out for over a year. Let's talk about other ones.
Nanette1 - I for one am glad for thr reprints...
Jo Beverley - Anyone have any particular questions?
Jo Beverley - Thanks, Nanette. I'm delighted they're available again.
Cissy - Jo, why don't we start out by your telling us a bit about CHRISTMAS ANGEL (or DEVIL'S HEIRESS or even DEVIL'S BRIDE ) and then we'll move on to Q&A
Oliveria - logged on - from 172.142.21.64 on 10/3 at 10:10pm EST
Jo Beverley - Do you all know that My Lady Notorious will be out again next July?
Marg - Now if they would just reprint your early Regencies
gerri7 - Tel us about your christmas book. Is it out yet?
gerri7 - Hi Oliveria
redhed has timed out.
Jo Beverley - Christmas Angel. It's the third of the Rogues books and it was published in 1992, I think.
talpianna - - from 64.12.107.177 on 10/3 at 10:10pm EST
talpianna - - from 64.12.107.177 on 10/3 at 10:11pm EST
Jo Beverley - It's on the shelves now, yes, Gerri.
Ashley - logged on - from 64.12.105.23 on 10/3 at 10:11pm EST

mary f - YAY!!!!!!! The only one I'm missing!
talpianna - - from 64.12.107.177 on 10/3 at 10:11pm EST
Oliveria - Should they be read in order?
Jelena - It'd be a lot easier if there was a bookset- I think I'm reading things backwards- read the Devil's heiress this weekend, and just started the Dragon's Bride
Jo Beverley - What's the volcano mean, Talpianna?
Marg - a groundhog? You can do anything on here
carlee has timed out.
talpianna - I was just rereading CHRISTMAS ANGEL--I have the original!
Cissy - talpianna has a thing for moles, Jo - that icon is a mole popping out of its hole
Nanette1 - Christmas Angel is the only 1 I need too
Jo Beverley - Olivera, I think it's always best to read books in order, but Christmas Angel doesn't link into the other books much, so I don't think you'd be lost if you read it as is.
Cel - Marg, that's a *mole*
Jo Beverley - Oh, it's a groundhog. LOL!
talpianna - It's not a volcano! It's me, the Mole Fiend, popping out of my molehill!
mary f - LOL
Jo Beverley - It does start at Beth and Lucien's house (from Unwilling Bride) and Nicholas and Eleanor turn up later, but you don't have to know anything about their stories.
talpianna - And *murfle* , which is what the second icon is, is a happy sound made by a pet mole curled up in Elizabeth Lowell's lap!
Jo Beverley - Okay, mole. Got it.
Janice - logged on - from 24.4.254.84 on 10/3 at 10:14pm EST
talpianna - Did you ever write a book about the White Dove and the one-armed hero (Miles?)?
Cel - Hi Janice
Janice - Hi
Dot - logged on - from 64.12.103.54 on 10/3 at 10:15pm EST
Cissy - Shall we go on to protocol - if anyone has a question for Jo about CHRISTMAS ANGEL or any upcoming books, please type ? and I'll call on you in turn.
Janice - Hi Cel. Hey Jo!
Cissy - Welcome Janice & Dot - we're chatting with Jo Beverley!
Dot - Finally I got in. Hi everyone.
mary f - Hello Dot
Jo Beverley - I must have had a reputation even back then, though, because I remember my editor phoning me and saying, "This is a Christmas book, Jo." Can you sort of stick to the happy family stuff? Please?"<G>
talpianna - cissy, are you asking us or telling us? and
Dot - Hi Mary!!!
Cissy - lol, Jo!
Jo Beverley - Talpianne, the one-armed Rogue is Hal. They appear in the other books, as you'll have seen. I'm not surethere's a whole book in their story. But I will tie the story up sometime.
Oliveria - ?
Cissy - you have a question, tal?
Cissy - Tal has the first question (Oliveria in line)
talpianna - That was it
booklady - logged on. - from 128.223.209.159 on 10/3 at 10:17pm EST
Jo Beverley - I'm not a good typist. At least, you can have it fast or you can have it without typos.
booklady - sorry, keep getting lost in auditorium
Oliveria - What are the order of your books? can you list them
Cissy - Jo, we wouldn't know what to do without typos in here!
Cel - typos are *required* in here, Jo
Jo Beverley - Olivera, there are twenty two as of now, so it'd take a while. They're all listed on my web site, though.
Jo Beverley - Oh, I fit right in then, Cel!
Oliveria - In order?
booklady - ?
Jo Beverley - www.poboxes.com/jobev
Jo Beverley - I have them listed by series, and there are things to explain the links, too.
talpianna -
Jo Beverley - Booklady, I fell in there, too.
Janice - Jo has a great web site. Be prepared to spend a lot of time there!
Cissy - booklady has the next question (talpianna in line)
MarieC - I'm sorry! Gotta run! Wish I could stay!
MarieC - - from 24.92.101.88 on 10/3 at 10:19pm EST
Jo Beverley - I do try to write all my books so they can be read alone, but it is best to read them in series, I think.
Oliveria - Janice what is the site?
booklady - Jo--I've read most of the books you currently have out, and love them! What are you working on next, and does it relate to a previous series?
Jo Beverley - I gave the URL above, Olivera.
Oliveria - logged on - from 172.142.21.64 on 10/3 at 10:20pm EST
Janice - http://poboxes.com/jobev
Oliveria - Thanks i will put it on my fav.
Cel - Oliveria, this will get you right to the book list, but check her site out: http://www.sff.net/people/jobeverley/Booklist.html
Jo Beverley - I've just sent off the book for next May, Booklady. It's called Hazard, and it's Race de Vere from Dragon's Bride, and Lady Anne, the "jilted" lady with the limp from the same book.
Jo Beverley - Gosh, you are all so clever with your links! I'm impressed.
Jelena has timed out.
bklady has timed out.
Nanette1 - love those Mallory
Marg has timed out.
Jo Beverley - I had so much fun with it.
booklady - Oh, can't wait! I felt bad for her getting jilted two times, but she handles it so well! Glad that she gets her chance at love.
Janice - I am SO looking forward to that one! Hope it is out in time for Celebrate Romance!
mary f - I do too <mallory's>
Jo Beverley - Everyone wants another Malloren book, Nanette, including my editor. I'm not ready to write one yet, though.
Cissy - talpianna has the next question
Oliveria - Thanks Namette
Cel - Nanette, I hope you mean the Malloren family
talpianna - Any plans for another Faery Magic anthology? I loved that!
Nanette1 - yup.trying to multi....lol
Janice - ?
Jo Beverley - Right, Booklady, but having two guys up and marry someone else has her severely annoyed.
Cel -
Jo Beverley - Talpianna, we thought about it (the authors) but it never happened.
Cissy - Janice has the next question (Cel in line)
Rabbitsdoe - logged on. - from 64.12.104.161 on 10/3 at 10:24pm EST
Jo Beverley - At least, be December next year all the Malloren books will be avaiaberl new. Zebra is reissuing Tempting Fortune then.
Janice - Jo, I really love your medievals, can you tell us anything about the next one?
Jo Beverley - Hi, Rabbitsdoe
talpianna - A colleague and I have in mind an anthology of alternate Regency short stories for publication as fantasy/sf--would you like to be on the list if we ever actually make it happen?
Cel - Hi Rabbit
Cissy - Hi Rabbitsdoe - we're chatting with Jo Beverley tonight and operating on protocol. If you have a question for Jo, type ? and I'll call on you in turn
Rabbitsdoe - Hi, Jo Beverly
Jo Beverley - Oh, Janice, I wish I could. I ache to get back there. I just seem to be being bombarded by other stories at the moment!
booklady - ?
Jo Beverley - I may try a novella to tide me over.
Cissy - Cel has the next question (booklady in line)
Rabbitsdoe - wow I will try to think of a question
Jo Beverley - Talpianna, possibly. Contact me off-chat.
Janice - That's OK Jo, I know I will enjoy whatever you write, and will wait patiently for my medieval.
Cel - Jo, were there only two connected books in the Dark Champion series (if it's considered a series)?
Jo Beverley - I will have an SF story coming out next year. Not really romance at all, though it has a strong relationship story.
Jo Beverley - Cel, actually all the medievals are connected, but it's mostly very loose.....
redhed has timed out.
Cel - Wow Jo, SF must be quite a change for you
Ashley has timed out.
Jo Beverley - And he also turns up in The Shattered Rose, before the events in DC.
Jo Beverley - Both Dark Champion and Lord of My Heart are also going to be republished in the next 18 months.
Dot - Cissy? If I time out...I wont get booted out, will I?
Janice - Great Jo, I was just wondering where I put my copies, now I can just buy them again!
Carrie - - from 65.30.129.230 on 10/3 at 10:30pm EST
Cissy - Booklady has the next question
Cissy - you shouldn't time out unless you leave, Dot
Jo Beverley - Cel, actually I wrote both in mp unpub days, and I have one SF story published. A minor publication.
Jo Beverley - That's why I've happily included speculative elements in various stories.
booklady - What is your favorite time period to write--medieval or Regency?
Dot - Ok Thanks!!!
Cel - you know your fans will read you, regardless of what genre you write
Jo Beverley - Booklady, I really can't answer that because I like to move between. In a way my first love is medieval, but I don't think I'd want to only write there.
Dot - Should I ask something a little spicy?
Jo Beverley - Different periods create different types of stories, I find, and I like variety.
Jen L - logged on. - from 216.117.92.30 on 10/3 at 10:32pm EST
Cissy - go for it, Dot
Jo Beverley - Go for it, Dot.
Rabbitsdoe - I think whe I first started reading romance it was one of jo beverly's that i wrote and need i say more i am still reading she got me hooked
Oliveria has timed out.
Dot - Ok...put in line for a Q !
Rabbitsdoe - sorry i meant ead
Rabbitsdoe - read
Dot - Ok...How Hot will the heroine get in this book!! I want some little details
Jo Beverley - Thanks, Rabbitdoe! I get a lot of mail from people who say I turned them on to romance. I love it, because I love romance novels. I think they are very healthy reading, if that doesn't sound strange.
hollyt - logged on. - from 172.161.124.124 on 10/3 at 10:34pm EST
talpianna - Rabbitsdoe, I guess you just washed your paws and can't do a thing with them!
Jo Beverley - In which book, Dot? Christmas Angel?
Cissy - doesn't sound strange to me, Jo!
Cissy - hi hollyt! we're chatting with Jo Beverley tonight and operating on protocol. If you have a question for Jo, type ? and I'll call on you
Marg - thanks for the chat bye
mary f - ?
Jo Beverley - hi, Holly
Rabbitsdoe - not strange at all I think romance novels are great
Marg - - from 24.5.117.132 on 10/3 at 10:35pm EST
Nanette1 - MY !st Jo Bev was Something Wicked.....had to get back copies then
Dot - In Christmas ANGEL!!!
Jo Beverley - Dot, did you see my question?
hollyt - Thanks, Cissy. I do have a ?
Jo Beverley - Christmas Angel was originally published as a regency, as were Arranged Marriage and Unwilling Bride, but they aren't "sweet" because they're marriage stories.
Rabbitsdoe - ?
Cissy - sure, holly - do you have a question for Jo?
Cissy - mary has the next question (hollyt, Robbitsdoe in line)
Dot - Yes... Christmas ANGEL!!
hollyt - Yes, I do. Jo, will you be making any appearnances in the east soon? I live in Kentucky, and I don't think you've been here.
Jo Beverley - Leander and Judith have quite a bit of trouble consummating their marriage, what with two kids, a rat, and a villain attacking one of the children. But they keep on trying!
Jo Beverley - Nanette, I'm glad you enjoyed Something Wicked.
Chessie - logged on - from 64.12.101.173 on 10/3 at 10:38pm EST
Dot - Can you share more HOT TROUBLE in the comsummating dept!!
Chessie - Hello everyone
Cissy - hi Chessie we're chatting with Jo Beverley tonight and operating on protocol. If you have a question for Jo, type ? and I'll call on you
Nanette1 - got me hooked good
Dot - ??wave
mary f - Dot you crack me up!
Jo Beverley - No, I haven't Holly. I don't have any plans to go there at the moment, alas. But I do post upcoming appearances on my web site, so if you check there every now and then, you'll know.
Dot - Im trying to get HOT Details!!!
Jo Beverley - Hi Chessie.
mary f - Hey Jo that'll be my question too!
Jo Beverley - Now, Dot, you'll have to read the book. There's a feather bed that proves interesting.
Chessie - Hi Jo, I'm a big fan.
Dot - Hmmm..I love it..you drawing me in....will I burn the feathers a tad with my HEAT?
Janice - Hi Chessie
Jo Beverley - Perhaps I should mention that Leander is gorgeous, an earl, and twenty-five, and Judith is a very ordinary woman of 29 with two children. She's feeling a bit inadequate.
Chessie - Hi Janice
Dot - Ok..Jo...I be honest...I want FIRE!!!
Jo Beverley - Oh, and she gets her period! I always wanted to put that in a book. And she's horribly embarrassed to be talking about it with him.
talpianna - Jo, except when it comes to turnips.....
Dot - Oh Jo.!!! Thats wild!!! I love it!!
Cissy - poor Judith!
hollyt - ?
Cissy - hollyt has the next question (Robbitsdoe in line)
Jo Beverley - Dot, I'll be honest. If you're looking to singe your fingers, this isn't the book for you. It's more gentle and funny in the sex department.
mary f - OOOH LOVE THOSE
Rabbitsdoe - Jo I was just wondering if you know if they will be reissueing My Lady Nortorious any time soon
Rabbitsdoe - Jo I was just wondering if you know if they will be reissueing My Lady Nortorious any time soon
hollyt - I'm going to nag about Hal and Blanche...Are they going to get their own book?
Jo Beverley - hough I do remember a reader letter telling me I had ruined an excellent book with the disgusting, unbridled lust on the library floor toward the end. <G>
Cissy - - from 66.79.24.229 on 10/3 at 10:42pm EST
Jo Beverley - True, Talpianna, about the turnips!
booklady - but we LIKED the unbridled lust!
Jo Beverley - Rabbitsdoe, I passed on the good news earlier. July next year for My Lady Notorious.
Cissy - - from 66.79.24.229 on 10/3 at 10:43pm EST
Chessie - that sounds like it would make the book Jo! Hi Cissy
Dot - thanks Jo...but I do enjoy the fun of sex and humor...Im still interested in reading it.
Cel - yeah, unbridled lust is good
Jo Beverley - Holly, I don't think so re Hal and Blanche. Perhapys a novella.
hollyt - I'll settle for a novella. <g>
talpianna - Sounds like Dot is going to write The Unwilling Bridle
Jo Beverley - Cel, when you've been married for weeks and things keep getting in the way, unbridled lust is pretty well the way it goes!
Dot - Jo...cant stop thinking of something...if she gets her period and she is embarressed....how about HIM...is he?
mary f - No Tal that would be BRY!
Cissy - sounds like a hoot, Jo!
talpianna - He was bred up in Europe and is terminally sophisticated
Jo Beverley - Dot, not very much, no. He's pretty sophisticated. Which in a way, embarrasses her more.
Dot - Talpianna...You Got a good IDEA!!!
talpianna - And then there's Blucher's appearance on the wedding night....
booklady - my $.02--would LOVE to see Lord Darius get his own book--any possibilities?
Jo Beverley - That's it, Talpianna.
Dot - Oh I love a confident man!!! So sexy!!
Jo Beverley - Talpianna, stop it right now.<G>
talpianna - I may buy a new copy, mine's a bit frail from rereading.
Jo Beverley - Boolady, definitely! I've been waiting years for Dare to turn up. It's the main reason I haven't written any more Rogues book. I knew I couldn't go much further on in time.
Jen L - logged on. - from 216.117.92.30 on 10/3 at 10:48pm EST
Jo Beverley - I didn't plan for him to be in the George books. He just turned up.
mary f - interesting thing to pick on to build the tension
Dot - Did I hear TENSION!!!!!!
Nanette1 has timed out.
Jo Beverley - But he'll need at least a year of book time to recover, I think.
booklady - Yeah!! I'll look forward to it--I'd love to see what happens to him. He deserves a happy ending...
talpianna -
mary f - LMAO
