Zebra Books
October 2002
The Greatest Gifts . . .
Lady Noelle has no intention of marrying just to save her family's castle. She feels nothing for Sir Gavin, the
man who will become her husband on Christmas Day. Then she spies Camelot''s newest knight, the notorious
Sir Nicholas the Dragon, A champion as renowned for his prowess in the beds of Camelot's maidens as for his
skill in battle. Noelle's heart has found the man she longs for, even as her hand is promised to another.
. . . Are Always Unexpected
Sir Nicholas's only loyalty is to his king whose orders are clear: He is to fend off the enemy besieging Noelle's
castle and bring the lady safely back to Camelot for her wedding day. But spending time with the proud beauty
awakens an irresistible hunger in him. Now, as desire does battle with duty, Nicholas has only two choices—to
surrender the woman he loves to another man or fight to the end to make her his own . . .

Cissy - Welcome everyone to our chat with Brenda K. Jernigan! We're talking to Brenda tonight about her book, CHRISTMAS IN CAMELOT. We'll be working on protocol tonight, so if you have any questions for Brenda, just type ? I'll call on you in turn.
Cissy - Brenda, will you tell us about CHRISTMAS IN CAMELOT?
Cissy - Then we'll go on to Q&A
brendakjernigan - This is my fun-loving book that is guaranteed to put you in a Christmas Mood as I take you back to Camelot. Now If I can do a cut and paste - I will give you a blurb
Cissy - fun loving and Christmas mood is a great start
brendakjernigan - There was a king – King Arthur of Camelot -There was a knight – Sir Nicholas the Dragon - There was a wager that each swore he would win . . .Lady Noelle has no intention of marrying just to save her family’s castle. She feels nothing for Sir Gavin, the man who will become her husband on Christmas Day. Then she spies Camelot’s newest knight, the notorious Sir Nicholas the Dragon, a champion as renowned for his prowess in the beds of Camelot’s maidens as for his skill in battle. Noelle’s heart has found the man she longs for, even as her hand is promised to another. Christmas may never come to Camelot.

Debbie K -
OL - You did it
Debbie K - YAY!!!
mary f - Nice job Brenda!
Cissy - Hey, cut and paste worked!
brendakjernigan - - Yes - OL - I finally did it!!!!
brendakjernigan - I had returns in it so I gook those out
Cissy - ooh, sounds good, Brenda!
Cissy - Okay, let's go on to Questions for Brenda!
Cissy - If you have any questions for Brenda, just type ? I'll call on you in turn.
Cissy - OL has the first question (no one in line)
brendakjernigan - Here's a look at Sir Nicholas-Since Sir Nicholas had stormed into the King’s life, proving his bravery over and over again, Arthur had had little peace. An aura of excitement surrounded the knight wherever he went. Nicholas feared nothing, so it seemed, except love. He had broken at least five hearts that Arthur knew about and probably countless others he, thankfully, knew nothing of.
OL - Brenda do you mostly write Histocials
brendakjernigan - Yes OL - However I have written 3 contemporaries that haven't been published - so I hoping to do those in the future
OL - i tought you fininsed
Debbie K - I loved this book, ladies. I gave it our highest rating...5 roses!
Cissy - Hi April Welcome to our chat with Brenda K. Jernigan! We're talking to Brenda tonight about her book, CHRISTMAS IN CAMELOT. We'll be working on protocol tonight, so if you have any questions for Brenda, just type ? I'll call on you in turn.
brendakjernigan - HI April
OL -
Mac - Hiya, April
AprilE - is this a scheduled chat? I dont want to interrupt
Cissy - Brenda, will you tell us a little about your hero and heroine?
mary f - hello April
AprilE - ah I see it is....thanks!!!
brendakjernigan - Come on in April
brendakjernigan - I can show you two of my favorite scenes - which I think shows their personality. Noelle is headstrong.-----As she neared the water’s edge, a splash caught her attention and made her forget about her anger as she wondered what animal she might see. Carefully, she eased down the final few steps of the path, and stopped behind a bush. She hid there so she wouldn’t frighten the creature. Ever so quietly, she inched her way up until she could see over the top of the bush. Her eyes widened. ‘Twas not the kind of animal she had expected to see. No, indeed. Emerging from the cold water was not an animal . . . well not the four-legged kind . . . but a man. A gasp escaped her lips so quickly, she had to clamp her hand over her mouth to silence it. Then she ducked back down behind her cover. When Noelle felt it was safe, she raised up again and, this time, kept her mouth shut. That didn’t stop her eyes from widening as she gazed upon the backside of the man who was just emerging from the water . . . and . . . and he was completely naked.
Cissy - oh my, Brenda... sounds yummy
Debbie K - Brenda, Why Camelot? Why not some other time, like Regency? Is this a favorite time period for you?
Debbie K - Sorry Cissy, I think I jumped the gun <blush>
Cissy - that's fine, Debbie
brendakjernigan - Deb - It is after I did all the research for this book. I think everybody loves Camelot. And as I was reading those $400 worth of research books - I found out that no one agrees on the ledgen. However now I'm writing a western because DANCE ON THE WIND was so popular
brendakjernigan - Here is my second favorite scene. I just loved Sir Nicholas - he was do die for *GB* Nicholas twisted the golden threads around his finger. “Somehow, I feel different where you are concerned.” He frowned at the admission. “’Tis a problem, you see. I feel . . . when I have never felt before. And I do not need such paltry emotions. ‘Tis far too dangerous for a warrior such as I.” He rubbed a finger across her cheek. “This I promise you, I shall never act upon these feeling unless they are returned tenfold.” He gazed at her with a longing that made his heart ache. Finally, he could bear no more. He lowered his head and ever so lightly, so that he wouldn’t wake her, he brushed his lips across her cheek. Then he sighed for what could never be. “Thou art very special, Noelle, and I have enjoyed this night like none before.”
Debbie K - <sigh> Can he be my birthday present? LOL
brendakjernigan - That's not a bad idea *gb*
OL - You are going to share Debbie right
Cissy - oooh... he's wonderful
Cissy - O has the next question
brendakjernigan - Thank you Cissy - The funny part was he was only admitting that because she was asleep
OL - What made you write in the first place did you hear voices
brendakjernigan - Just crazy I guess <BG>. I had loved so many authors that I thought that I wanted to try this - now you have to remember I'm dyslexia - so everything is an uphill battle for me.
BethS - ?
Debbie K - maaybbe! <grin>
OL -
Cissy - being crazy helps, Brenda -- especially in here
Cissy - BethS has the next question (OL in line)
mary f - NO doubt
OL - //shocked Cissy
brendakjernigan - OK - What do the ? mean - does that mean somebody has a question?
BethS - you said the heroine is promised to marry someone else? How does she get with Nicholas?
OL - //surprised
Cissy - yep, Brenda - that's what it means. Then I call on them
Cissy - and you answer them
OL - Sometimes we don't wait to be called on
brendakjernigan - Her brother promised Noelle to a knight that she has never met. When she unwilling goes to Camelot
brendakjernigan - Sorry - my screen went blank
Cissy - no problem - that happens sometimes
Cissy - lol, OL - that's the truth!
Debbie K - I was guilty of that..sorry..now I know what to do<blush>
BethS - and she meets him at Camelot? What about the guy she doesn't want?
brendakjernigan - NOw as I was saying when she goes to Camelot she goes out with the queen to gather greenery and gets lost - Sir Nicholas finds her - but he was a gentleman - however after that night they are snowed in a barn - the sparks fly
Debbie K - and boy do they fly..the tension is great
Debbie K - sorry Brenda...you know how much I oved this book
Cissy - ooh, tell us about the barn scene!
brendakjernigan - The guy she doesn't want is a catch, too. But there is a twist in the book - so you have to read it to unravel the mystery - Am I telling this ok Deb?
OL - He is going to be in thenext book right
brendakjernigan - If I can write another medieval - could be? Right now I'm knee deep in westerns. I have a book due in 3 weeks and another after that due in 6 months
brendakjernigan - Here is the blurb for the book I'm working on now that I hope will be titled UNTIL SEPTEMBER ........She was beautiful.....She was young.....But Claire Holladay is going to die.....
OL - Who do you like to read when you have a chance
brendakjernigan - Judith MaNaught and Julie Garwood - I've been compaired to Julie Garwood- GREAT compliment
Cissy - not too shabby, Brenda!

Cissy - Hi Ashlee Welcome to our chat with Brenda K. Jernigan! We're talking to Brenda tonight about her book, CHRISTMAS IN CAMELOT. We'll be working on protocol tonight, so if you have any questions for Brenda, just type ? I'll call on you in turn.
Sara - ?
Mac - Hi, Ashlee
Cissy - welcome back, O
brendakjernigan - You'll have to try them - I received a fan letter yesterday from a woman who had never read a romance. She ran in picked of CHRISTMAS IN CAMELOT and wrote me this long letter that was so wonderful that I cried. Now she has bought all my books.
Cissy - Debbie K has the next question (Sara in line)
Ol - i can't spell
Cissy - oh, that's so neat, Brenda
brendakjernigan - OL - Believe me I'd never know
Debbie K - what is your favorite time period to read?
brendakjernigan - Cissy - That letter meant so much to me that I'm going to have it framed. Now her 18 yr old daughter who hates to read has picked up the book and even went out any bought her own copy
Ol - how sweet
Caffey - thats fabulous! i'm just having my daughter who is 16 to read a few of the "easy" books, grin
Sara - that is a good thing, Brenda. Isn't it amazing what can touch a person's life?
brendakjernigan - DEB - I just love pirates - which was my first book, by the way. And I love England. In another life - I must have been English
brendakjernigan - Yes Sara - I was so humble after I read that letter. It made me go down and start writing all over again.
Debbie K - lol
Ol -
Debbie K - what good inspiration that must have been
Cissy - Sara has the next question (O in line)
Caffey - your pictures at your site are beautiful!
Sara - I hope no one asked, but what was it about the Camelot legend that drew you to this period? Since my daughter is named Guinevere, I have a slight fascination with the legend. Plus I loved the original Camelot movie with Richard Harris. We saw it in school and it was fabulous. Not so happy with the Sean Connery version
Ol - Pictures of her family Caffey
brendakjernigan - Deb - To me it was to me because you never know if you can pull that next book out.
brendakjernigan - Caffey - Thank you. My dogs are something else
Caffey - yep and pictures of Winston and ALexandra...i think basset hounds (i don't know the breeds of dogs)
Caffey - ?
Caffey - You have a beautiful cover of CAMELOT....
brendakjernigan - SARA - That's so neet. My editor called and said do I want to write a Christmas book - and so I picked Camelot - not really knowing that much about it. And then when I started reading some of the stories - I thought it was great.. I already had the first line of the book so I went from there
brendakjernigan - Caffey - Yep those are Bassets - they are both downstairs asleep on my couch. I have to now sit in a chair
Caffey - honestly, i don't know what Camelot is...
Caffey - lol Brends
Caffey - a
Cissy - Ol has the next question (Caffey in line)
brendakjernigan - Caffey - Thank you. What I ask for on the cover was a knight on a horse. And if you don't know what Camelot is - you'll have to read the book
Caffey - that i do!
Ol - What do you want to write that you han't written before?
brendakjernigan - My all time favorite book is a Time Travel that I've written - but editors are so gun shy about buying them. But when this book is printed - it will be something - there has never been anyone who has read that book that has been able to forget it.
Caffey - i do enjoy TT, learned about them here at writerspace
Cissy - Caffey has the last question
