Patti O'Shea - Mary, I used to write short, 60,000 words. I never thought I could write a whole 100,000 word book. I went over that on Ravyn's Flight. Now I'm in danger of going over on my current book too.

Patti O'Shea - O, I watched Voyager, but other than that, haven't been a real big Star Trek fan. I just like to set up my own cultures and societies and watch my hero and heroine interact within those strictures.

Patti O'Shea - Mary, that's what I'm going to have to do. Dropping the secondary story with the warlord and will have to give him his own story.

Patti O'Shea - Although Ravyn's Flight is set just 40 years in the future and is pretty Earth based so no different society in this book.

Patti O'Shea - I am, Mary. In Ravyn's Flight, there's an abandoned, ancient alien city on the planet. The story I'm working on now is set on another planet this same society colonized. This one isn't abandoned.

Patti O'Shea - O, I set everything up with my imagination, but I do try to research the details. Like I bought a Rock Climbing for dummies book because my barbarian scales some walls. I ended up creating some different equipment, but I did check it out first.
