JacquelineElliott - Am I in the hot seat?
Lea - Hi Robin
JacquelineElliott - Hi Kat!
Sara - yes, Jacqueline, you are it
Lora Leigh - Whew, thanks Robin. I told you, I wouldn't do anymore......LOL
KatBos - I loved Ruis as a hero!!
Lea - What are you working on Beth
RockinRobin -
Lora Leigh - Hey, I sent you Tempting. That should make up for it
Lora Leigh - LOL
Sara - actually, this is a friendly discussion of books, so introduce yourself, your book(s) and carry on. No protocol tonight
CB Scott - Beth - The sequel to Scandalous Spirits. Rufus is the hero!
RobinDOwens - Thanks, Kat. He's not typical -- or maybe outcast, tortured guys....(anyway as tortured as I get)
RockinRobin - well, it's a start...I'm hoping for Brock...//
JanetMAgain - Oh, Robin, you'll appreciate this. Linnea made me rewrite my Girl in the Box story and make Ganth more alpha...
Lora Leigh - I told you, soon.........LOL
Lora Leigh - I promise
RobinDOwens - ROTFLMAO!!!!!!
Linnea - Megan Sybil - Janet found out I have a whip when it comes to rewrites...
CB Scott - Beth - Love those alpha men, Janet.
RobinDOwens - I get no respect for my advice!!
RockinRobin - Just checking...gotta keep you on your toes.
KatBos - Robin, I was worried about Heart Thief since I enjoyed HeartMate SOOO much but no worries there! I loved it just as much and can't wait for more of the series!!
JanetMAgain - Yeah, yeah... I know... Robin knows best...
RobinDOwens - So I've stopped giving it.
JacquelineElliott - Shadows in the Fire is about a witch from Salem Village, who through a faulty spell ends up in the 21st century. Theirs an evil witch villain who follows her and is trying to send her back to Salem Village to be hung.
Ann K99 - Robin...are you going to CR2003?
Linnea - Megan Sybil - Janet found out I have a whip when it comes to rewrites...
Lora Leigh - *sigh* LOL
JanetMAgain - Crit buddies I listen too. Editors I obey!
R Casteel - Robin in place of respect I'll give you
JanetMAgain - Sometimes...
RobinDOwens - Thanks, Kathy. # 3 and 4, Duel and Trail are languishing on my editor's destk.
Ann K99 - Jacki..that plot sounds intriguing
KatBos - Hi Cissy!
Gail Crease - That sounds great!
Rose! - @ Rod!
Cissy - Hi all
RobinDOwens - Alas, Rod. He isn't here in person....
RobinDOwens - Send him with the pizza.
JacquelineElliott - It's a very spur of the moment shortened version, Ann.
KatBos - Robin, I'll read then any time.
RobinDOwens - Jacki has some neat twists.
CB Scott - Beth - Hi Cissy!
Lea - a lights are so purty
KatBos - them, I mean...THEM. Shoot, there goes my typing!!
Gail Crease - Hi, Cissy!
Sara - hi, Cissy
Rose! - Hi Cissy!
Ann K99 - ..have a , Cissy
O - So it is a timetravel jacueline
Lora Leigh - Hi Cissy
JacquelineElliott - More like I have a twisted mind.
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - [well I got bounced! sigh... aol...]
RockinRobin -
RobinDOwens - Yes, O, from past to here.
LindaBleser - We love twisted minds here, Jacki!
Ann K99 - Robin....are you attending CR2003?
CB Scott - Beth - We missed you, Linnea.
JacquelineElliott - Yes, O. Only the story takes place after my heroine, Morgan has been here for awhile.
Cissy - Thanks Rose!!
JanetMAgain - Jacki is one of the reason's I wrote my vampire novel... She's got a great one coming out next year.
gerri - HI
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 -
JacquelineElliott - I know Linda.
RobinDOwens - Absolutely. Is the date and venue definite yet?
JanetMAgain - Twisting... twisting... twisting the night away...
Ann K99 - hi Gerri have a
JacquelineElliott - Full Moon Inheritance will be released in May 2002,
RobinDOwens - Hi, Gerri!
KatBos - Hi Gerri.
Rose! - anytime Cissy!!
RobinDOwens - Treble Heart Books, Jacki?
RockinRobin - Aol booted me too.
JacquelineElliott - Oops 2003
LindaBleser - Full Moon Inheritance is wonderful! I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek.
JacquelineElliott - Yes, Robin. I got an awesome quote from Linda.
JanetMAgain - Linnea, how many books have you published in the last 24 months???
RobinDOwens - Wowie-Zowie!!!
Sara - okay, not to be a pita but let's talk about 2002 books. Teasing about 2003 isn't fair tonight!
RobinDOwens - Authors helping others is the best!
JacquelineElliott - Thanks Linda! You're a doll
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - Janet, I've had 6 books pubbed since Aug 2000.
RobinDOwens - Pita?
Lora Leigh - I don't have AOL and get booted anyway LOL
Ann K99 -
JanetMAgain - Okay... That's got to be a record...
LindaBleser - You're right, Sara. It's just that we're all each other's biggest fans as well.
RockinRobin - Lora has another book out called Wolfe's Hope...very hot, sexy alpha male.
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - PITA Robin - Pain In The A**
RobinDOwens - So, we have Shadows in the Fire, Command Performance, Finders Keepers, Moon of Little Winter, Gabrial's Ghost, Lady of the Knife, Poseidon's Kiss, Scandalous Spirits...
Lora Leigh - Thanks Robin. I liked writing that one.......LOL
Gail Crease - LOL on PITA. I'll have to remember that one.
RobinDOwens - Oh
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - Nope, FINDERS won last year's PEARL. Not eligible.
LindaBleser - And BRAKOS@TWILIGHT.COM in the novella category.
JanetMAgain - My daughter came up with a joke for her screenplay today: "The trouble with an epidural is that it wears off years before the kid is a real pain in the ass"
RobinDOwens - Tanika
Gail Crease - Lora, dare I ask what the hero is?
JacquelineElliott - Brakos@twilight.com
LindaBleser - Oh, I thought were were going over *all* the books. That's just Linnea's list, huh? <grin>
KatBos - I have a question. What do you all consider futuristics? Are they classified as paranormals? It really doesn't matter though cause I love em!
JacquelineElliott - LOL Janet!
Ann K99 - Janet
RobinDOwens - Yes, I need to get that one.
R Casteel - I have found that writers, published or not are the greatest people in the world, caring, giving and very supportive of new writers, If it wasn't for several talented ladies I wouldn't be published today
Lora Leigh - Wolfe is a genetically altered male
Lea - neat titles robin
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - LOL, Linda B!
Lora Leigh - His dna has been reengineered with certain DNA of the wolf
RobinDOwens - I'd say it depends on whether they use magic or not. The PEARLs have sf romance...
Mac - Rod, you do a great job....**had to add my 2cents worth in there**
Gail Crease - I tend to think of anything that's not normal, paranormal. I guess the sub categories are for readers to distinguish what they like to read
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - Kat, the classifications of PNR books and futuristics and SFR etc boggles me. I just know what I like to read and write.
RobinDOwens - Lea, those are some of the books by the talented writers here
Gail Crease - Ah, I thought there might be wolf in there. Very dark, very intriguing!
JanetMAgain - Futurists are paranormal. Lady of the Knife is either a Futurist, because it takes place someplace not like medival Earth, or an alternative history. At one time I tried to place it as a futurist, then decided it was alt-history instead.
Ann K99 - PARANORMAL FOREVER <g>
Lea - and I am not
Lora Leigh - Wolfe is different..... kinda........LOL
JanetMAgain - For example, what is the Dragonquest series by Anne McCaffrey?
Ann K99 - Hi Joanna
RockinRobin - Wolfe is just....ahhhh
Gail Crease - Yes, I'm so glad to see this renewed interest in paranormals
Mac - Hi, Jo
RobinDOwens - Just finished the copy edits on Heart Thief, and the dedication is to paranormal readers and writers.
LindaBleser - hi Joanna
KatBos - Alternative history is good too.
Sara - yes, the subcategories for PNR are like any other genre...broken down into smaller components
JacquelineElliott - Hi Joanna
Ann K99 - yea...Robin
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - Someone (Orson Scott Card?) wrote that a good definition of SF&F is that it contains an element that isn't naturally found in our lives - like magic or starships or wizards or elves... hmmm, what happens when starships ARE available?
Gail Crease - I would call the Dragonquest series pure fantasy or scifi
JacquelineElliott - Very good Robin.
O - What do the authors want to write that they han't before
JanetMAgain - If it has no weird stuff and it takes place in ancient times its historical. If it takes place in modern times and has no odd stuff, then its contemporary. Everything else is paranormal....
JoannaW - Hi everyone!
Lora Leigh - Hi Joanna
JanetMAgain - How's that for a definition.
RockinRobin - Hi Joanna
RobinDOwens - Ann, I missed your answer about CR2003.
Sara - Best FUTURISTIC - Stories in this category require the main plot to be set in a time far enough into the future for there to be significant developments (changes) in culture as we know it.
KatBos - Well, aren't most paranormals pure fantasy in a way?
RobinDOwens - Hi, Joanna, thanks for the quote!
Gail Crease - Hi, Joanna!
Lea - hi joanna
Sara - Best SCIENCE FICTION - Stories which draw imaginatively on scientific knowlege and speculation in the plot and setting. Must involve romance.* May include releases outside the romance genre.
Ann K99 - Robin...I asked if you were attending CR
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - Weird stuff? LOL Janet! Remember you're talking to a retired private detective. I'm seen some really WEIRD stuff right here...
Sara - all fiction is pure fantasy, isn't it? I guess it depends on the definition of "pure"
Ann K99 - it's in the Midwest ...PROBABLY Chicago...but not official
val - I was wondering how long you would last Ann
CB Scott - Beth - So
KatBos - Well, you have a point there, Sara!!
RobinDOwens - Yes. I am. Where and when?
LindaBleser - I'm glad I'm not the one who has to decide what categories to put these books in. So many of them cross genres.
CB Scott - Beth - , Linnea, would you consider Gabrial's Ghost Science Fiction?
RobinDOwens - Most people think romance is pure fantasy...
JanetMAgain - Yeah, I know... my contemporary isn't a fantasy until I consider the fact that the hero was able to save the small startup company... That's fantasy.
JoannaW - So, Robin - what are you working on right now?
Ann K99 - CR will PROBABLY in Chicago..sometime in may..
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - Definitely, GABRIEL'S GHOST is science fiction, even though it has a shapeshifter aspect.
Ann K99 - BE in Chicago <G>
RobinDOwens - Just finished copy edits for Heart Thief, then a new project my agent wants to see.
O - What do the authors want to write that they han't before
JanetMAgain - Yeah, but there is a kind of science explanation for the shapeshifting... remember anything not explaned by science becomes magic.
JoannaW - Can you give us any hints about the new project?????
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - O, being a retired private detective, I want to write a romantic suspense/PI novel.
Gail Crease - O, amongst other things, a woman's fiction with a paranormal element
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - Janet, yep, the shapeshifting is a genetic abnormality.
JacquelineElliott - I'd love to write a historical, O.
JanetMAgain - Oh, yes. A kind of romantic I Robot.... I can see it now, with the android being female... that would work.
RobinDOwens - I think I'm basing some of my characters on the Knights Templars.
CB Scott - Beth - I want to write a fantasy romance in first person.
Gail Crease - Jacki, is that a straight historical?
R Casteel - Texas Thunder, released in October is a contemporary but has several supernatural interventions within the story.
JoannaW - That's cool... did you ever read Linda Howard's book about the Templars? It was very good!
Gail Crease - Yes, was that Son of the Morning?
LindaBleser - O, I'm dying to work on a story where a young, struggling actress is possessed by the spirit of the murdered star she's playing in a movie. That's way down on the list of projects I have lined up for the next few years, though.
Lora Leigh - Son of the Morning was AWESOME
JacquelineElliott - I'm not sure if I could write a straight historical. It'd have to have paranormal elements in it.
val - Robin did you enjoy your trip to the UK?
Lea - hi blind
BlindFaith - Good evening everyone!!!!
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - First person is a very intense way to write, Beth - kept me up at night...
Lora Leigh - One of her best
Rose! - ANGEL!!! HI!!
RockinRobin - Linda Howard wrote a book about the Templars? what's it called?
RobinDOwens - CB Scott, have you read Rebecca Flanders newly re-released wolf series, 1st person, excellent.
R Casteel - O,I would like to write, strangeiit may seem, an inspeirational
JanetMAgain - Oh, I guess that includes me, too. Hmm... I would really like to finish up my futurist. For Linnea and Robin, that's the world Girl in the Box is set in.
Gail Crease - She did excellent research on that book
Ann K99 - I loved SON OF THE MORNING
Lea - when did you go to thje UK Robin
JoannaW - Son of the Morning. FABULOUS book!!!!
Ann K99 - Hi
Mac - That doesn't come as a shock to me, Rod.
RobinDOwens - Yes, loved Son of the Morning. But really loved visiting a couple of Templar sites in London...
Ann K99 - Have a
KatBos - Count me in for a lover of SON OF THE MORNING!
BlindFaith - Rose, You have GOT to read Lord Ruin by Caroline Jewel!!! I have read the book 4 times this weekend!!
JoannaW - I don't think that's strange, RC.
RobinDOwens - Yes, Val. One of my favorite things.
JoannaW - Robin, you suck! I wanna go with you to London next time!
Rose! - *sigh* that good huh?
Gail Crease - Is Lord Ruin out now or an oldie?
JoannaW - BlindFaith - what is it about?
CB Scott - Beth - No, I haven't Robin. I'll have to check that out. Linnea's (Megan's) Gabriel's Ghost totally turned me on to first person.
BlindFaith - It is out now!! It is a december release.
Ann K99 - I LOVED seeing London..and Edinburgh
RockinRobin - Lord Ruin is new this month
Delyn - Rod, you had some very strong inspirational elements in Texas Thunder.
BlindFaith - Caroline can right some scenes!!!!
Ann K99 - want to go back
Rose! - Me too Kat! my favorite of hers I think.
RobinDOwens - Lea, I went in Nov.
JoannaW - I think Son of the Morning is one of my all time favortie books... And VERY untraditional for a romance, but still a great love story!
Lea - Lucky Girl
R Casteel - Anna, Edinburg was my first overseas port in 1972,I love it there
JanetMAgain - Edinburgh is the most ROMANTIC place I've ever been. Short of a beach on Bora Bora...
Rose! - ARGH! I have soooo many on my list Angel!!! LOL
Gail Crease - I remember thinking Son of the Morning ws the first real "computer" romance
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - Rod, IMHO inspirational and PNR works well together - George Lucas had several very strong inspirational messages in STAR WARS - not Christian based, but very spiritual.
val - Don't know why it's a total dump (London that is)!! rflmao
Lea - I got invited to go to Scotland from these guys that live there
R Casteel - Deyln, I tried not to be obivious
RobinDOwens - May 2004. For reasons unknown to me, my Mom wants to see Victoria and Albert's masoleum and it's only open 6 days a year, 3 in May, 3 in August.
Lea - I met though this Scottish history Loop I am in
Ann K99 - walked down from Edinburgh Castle to HolyRood House...
CB Scott - Beth - Hey, Robin. I was in London in November too.
Sara - why did you think it was a computer romance, Gail?
JacquelineElliott - Rub it in some more, Lea. LOL!
O - What are authors working on next
JoannaW - Yes, I agree LinneaMeganSybil
BlindFaith - I am caught up on my list of books to buy until next month. My Christmas present to myself. I got a huge shipment from Leisure today. The only problem was it was short 12 books. But, they are fixing it. They are wonderful.
Gail Crease - If it's the book I'm thinking of, she did all her research on different computer terminals as she was trying to outrun the bad guys
JanetMAgain - London isn't a dump. London is wonderful!
Lora Leigh - Nite guys
val - ann I noted the most important part of that sentance - walk DOWN from Edinburgh castle! lol
Lora Leigh - I need to go now.
Lea - I shall jacq they type in the old dileect
Gail Crease - I just remember thinking it was the first book I'd read where the heroine was really plugged into the computer age
Delyn - Rod, I didn't say that they were obvious... just that they were there... which I thought was good for the story.
Ann K99 - Robin...I was across the street ..almost from the V&A Museum in 1998\
Ann K99 - it's lovely
Sara - yes, but why is that your first computer romance? there were others that used computers
JacquelineElliott - Nite Lora!
JoannaW - I'm working on another book in my Saurellian series, O
O - bye
RockinRobin - bye Lora
Ann K99 - LOL Val
Sara - I loved the one by Jayne Ann Krentz. where the heroine is trapped in a refrigerator and sends an email via PDA to Stark to rescue her!
Celeste - Hi everyone
val - Janet, yep it's got wonderful areas, I went to somerset house just before I came over.
BonnieJean Hamilton - Hi all
KatBos - Night Lora.
Lea - they use words like ye, ken, hud , wud wot, whit, tatties, call their legs pins
Linnea - Megan Sybil2 - Joanna, IMHO people can accept a deeply spiritual/inspiration message better in PNR fiction that if it's written as an 'inspirational'. In GABRIEL'S I tackled prejudiced very strongly but strictly as part of the story.
Sara - I think I could do that on my PDA
JoannaW - Bye Lora
Lea - hi bonnie
val - Trust Me wasn't it Sara?
Gail Crease - I guess I hadn't read many others, so that one really stuck in my mind
BlindFaith - I read What She Wants Most by Winnie Griggs. It didn't compare to Lord Ruin. I thought she was too boosy. But it ended great.
JanetMAgain - And the gardens... I love the gardens...
Sara - I know that book came out before SON OF MORNING
JacquelineElliott - Hi Bonnie Jean
Sara - I think it is TRUST ME
Sara - with Desdomona and Stark
Celeste - I loved TRUST ME
BonnieJean Hamilton - s Hi Jacqueline
Sara - poor guy, a real geek
Gail Crease - Hi, Bonnie Jean
R Casteel - O, Im workig on a Sci Fiction, Mystery of Table Rock, A scientific DNA experiment goes bad and a young woman is altered and must hide in fear of her life.
Mac - Hey, Rod...I finished Ch.3 this morning..working on 4 now.
RobinDOwens - I loved that one too, Sara. Trust me. But heard that the shielding of a real refridg room (from one of my scientific buddies) would have really blocked the signal.
Ann K99 - I enjoyed TRUST ME
Mac - Mystery is SOOO good, too, Rod....FINISH IT!!! !!!
KatBos - Ohhhh, Sara, I loved that book!! Course I love all of JAK's books!
Cissy - geeks are good!
Sara - he gives her a techie tool and she is sorta lost about it (think getting a jigsaw for a present -- something the dh really likes you you are just, well, that's nice, dear)
Lea - hi cissy
CB Scott - Beth - Cyndi and I are working on the seque to SCANDALOUS SPIRITS.
Mac - Geeks are wonderful.
JoannaW - Yes, I agree. If it's billed as inspirational, it can be a bit heavy handed...
Cissy - Hi Lea
Mac -
Sara - not necessarily, Robin
val - particularly on the equipment available then, nowadays with a new phone or pda probably not as there are those that work in lifts.
